How to log in... look for the little blue silhouette

To take advantage of your members-only benefits, you’ll first need to log in.


Normally, you’ll see a sign-in block like this.

  • Just enter your email

  • and password

If you forgot your password, click on the “Forgot password” link.

Forgot both the email you used to log in with MWSA AND your password? Click on the button below to get in touch with our membership team.

Checking the “Remember me” block helps your browser remember your sign-in email, so that you can check things out without having to sign in again.

If you don’t see the sign-in blocks, just click on the blue silhouette on the top right of the screen.

Once you’re logged into our secure members-only area, when you click on the blue silhouette, it’ll show your name and you’ll be able to:

  • View/update your profile page

  • Change your password, or

  • Log out

Member Profile Page

There’s a lot happening on your member profile page. Here’s what you can do:

  • Update your contact information (address, email, military affiliation, add/update your “avatar” or image, etc.

  • View/Print our your membership card

  • Change membership level

  • Renew

  • Check for messages

You’ll also find a menu selection near the top of the page that will allow you to:

  • Update your privacy preferences

  • View/update your email subscriptions

  • View/upload your own photo album

  • View update your event registration(s)

  • See all your invoices and payment history

Privacy Settings

MWSA wants to make sure we protect our members’ privacy. We therefore let you, the member, decide exactly what type of information is shared and with whom.

To check your current privacy settings, click on “Privacy” on your profile page.

Viewing Your Privacy Settings

Scroll up and down to see your current settings (who gets to see what).

What types of information you can decide to share:

  • Name

  • Membership Level

  • Address

    • Separated by street, city, state, and zip code

    • Members may only want to share their state of residence (rather than their full mailing address) for example.

  • Phone

  • Email

  • Avatar

  • Military affiliation

  • Photo album

  • Send message form

    • If activated—by setting to “Members” or “Anybody”—this form allows other members to contact you directly from within our members-only website.

Updating/Changing Your Privacy Settings

If you’d like to change any of the settings, just click on the blue “Edit Profile” button (see image in the section above). You may now change any of your individual privacy settings however you’d like.

What do the settings mean?

  • No access—no one but you and your MWSA membership team can see any items marked at this level.

  • Members—only current members can view this information.

  • Anybody—anyone logged into our website can view this information.

What about “Show profile to others”?

  • MWSA used to have a membership directory, where members could opt-in to have their names and contact details available to others.

  • We recently “turned off” the membership directory until we could get a better handle on everyone’s desired privacy settings. Until we’re sure that everyone has given permission to share such information, we’ll keep the directory unavailable—to both the public AND to your fellow MWSA members.

Email Subscriptions

MWSA wants to make sure that we contact you via email with the information you want and when you want it. We do this via the “Email Subscriptions” section of your profile.

See Your Current Subscriptions and Preferences

When you first click on Email Subscriptions, you’ll see your current preferences. To change/update any of your preferences, click on the blue “Edit Profile” button.

Emailing Preferences

  • This is where all members “opt in” to receive emails from MWSA. This setting overrides the next section (i.e., opting out of our email system means you won’t get any news or events-related updates from us).


  • Sign up for emails related to events (primarily our annual conferences) and/or newsletters and other notifications

Forum Subscriptions

  • Sign up to get notifications of any changes or postings in our various members-only forums (Review Swap & Beta Reader programs)

  • To initially sign up, you’ll need to visit the individual form pages, and “subscribe".

Changing your Preferences

Once again, if you want to change or update any setting, click on the blue “Edit Profile” button.

  • Subscribe or Unsubscribe from the various email updates

  • In the case of our forums, you can also change the frequency of updates:

    • Get Daily, Weekly, or Immediate Updates

    • Caution: Immediate updates will occur as soon, and as often, as anyone posts to the forum! You can always change your preferences if you start getting too many (or too few) notifications.

  • Once you’re finished making changes, don’t forget to SAVE your preferences!
