William E. Mayer Winner for February 2012
Submitted by Joyce Faulkner on February 17, 2012 - 20:43she wrote me one last letter
she wrote me one last letter

addicted
she speaks rapidly
this waterfall woman
words spew out of her
caffeine generated
drug – alcohol induced?
it matters not the reason
the words flow
from her macro-micro moods
pronunciations abound
emotions strained…pureed
furniture needs dusting
musty smells mingle with others
I will not name them
read my lips
fed up I watched
if they were goose down
covered in blood
I would be no less sick
but watch I must
this scribbler of verse
