An End To The Means
When Fahkira 'Kira' Farooq applies to the Central Intelligence Agency after college, she is the ideal case officer recruit. Not only is she fluent in Arabic and Urdu and is of Pakistani descent, she has a degree in political science. A bike messenger, the young woman also possesses general street smarts. Based on these qualifications, Agency officials invite her to a three-day screening in Washington, DC.
Kira excels in all areas of the screening. However, the CIA’s interest quickly turns to suspicion when her DNA sample—collected during the three-day process—turns out to be a 99.99% match, not to her own DNA but a paternal match to a sample from a man identified as Michael Nasiri. Confusing the issue is the fact that, during her interview, the young woman claimed she never knew her father. Intelligence agency officials quickly confirm Nasiri is a wealthy London-based CEO of an import-export company...who is also the financial backer of Mullah Amil Jehani, the elusive leader of a Pakistani terrorist network, Nabiji ki Aulad.
Is she telling the truth? Or was she purposely directed to apply to the CIA to serve as a penetration agent for Nabiji ki Aulad?
Kira's simple career move eventually turns her into a pawn for two entities-- the Central Intelligence Agency and the father she has never known-- to separately exploit with one man, Mullah Jehani, as the ultimate objective.
An End to the Means depicts the depths to which people will go to reach their ends, whether noble, self-righteous, just or fanatical. However, An End to the Means is also a tribute to one woman’s values as she searches for her own identity amidst tremendous outside influences.
